City Life Review: Yerba Buena Latin Restaurant: Perry Street NYC

yerba buena 2This past Sunday I had brunch with the girls at the Latin restaurant Yerba Buena.  We got there around 12:30pm and were seated promptly.  This was much to my surprise since we didn’t have reservations.  The ambiance was chic. Lovely modern décor, mellow tunes such as Tina Turner and Michael Jackson tunes were playing in the background with a diverse crowd.  The waitress was very prompt in taking our drink order. Of course, we went for the one-hour unlimited cocktails. I sipped on a few white sangrias, and a Brazilian Bellini, both of which were very tasty. The sangria was made with grand marnier, lepanto brandy, blackberry brandy, peach liquer and fresh fruit and the bellini was made with  leblon cachaca, passion fruit and sparkling wine. Thirst quencher!

For brunch they had quite a selection, variations of Latin influenced dishes.  I decided on the Pan Dulce, which is the French toast with manchego cheese. I was skeptical at first, cheese and French toast just didn’t sound appetizing, but to my surprise it was delicious. I could have definitely gone for seconds. The food came out pretty quickly once we ordered and the waitress kept the drinks coming. We didn’t even get a chance to finish our glasses before she was over asking if we wanted more.  I am very particular about how my food looks and the presentation was very appealing. yerba buena

My friends and I stayed for almost 3 hours and we had a fabulous time. I definitely plan to go back and try their dinner menu. If you’re ever in the city and looking for a relaxed brunch spot, I would add Yerba Buena to the list.
