This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of going to the Circle of Sister’s Expo 2012 in NYC Jacob Javit Center and it was amazing. There were so many vendors, so many celebs, so many people; it was a rocking good time. The doors opened at 9:30am and didn’t close until 10pm. So you literally had events and workshops going on all day long.
There were numerous vendors ranging from Make My Cakes, to Alvin Alley American Dance Theater, to one of my favs Shea Moisture Natural hair care line, along with so many others. There were many vendors geared towards healthy lifestyles, organic foods and heath awareness. It felt really good to see health education vendors that were there to answer any question you had health related. A lot of good literature was provided for those who were interested in learning more about their bodies.
Workshops were scheduled throughout the day and the topics ranged from money, wealth, relationships, health and black America. The panelists were prominent leaders within the community and educators. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend any of the workshops, but I hear the feedback was phenomenal and people walked away with knowledge. I even heard Steve Harvey taped his game show Family Feud with the live audience! How awesome is that?!!
So many celebs graced the Expo, I had the pleasure to see the man himself, Mr. Steve Harvey, Tichina Arnold, Tamia, Judge Glenda Hatchett, Basketball Wives Jennifer Williams, and Darrin Henson, plus so many other celebs were there earlier and later in the day.
This was my first time at the Expo and may just have to make it a yearly event, I enjoyed myself entirely too much. I had lots of fun, laughter, oh and of course dancing. Yes, we were doing the wobble. Lol.
Did you go to the Expo? Post a comment and let us know how you felt about it.
Till the next event….
