If you’re anything like me, you are up early and out late. My days can be very long. Juggling a full time job, extra activities, plus blogging can be overwhelming some days, but it has to get done. As a woman, we normally always have long days; it’s always work, family, shopping, running errands, the list can go on and on. So, who has time to sleep?
Quite naturally 24hours does not seem to be enough time in a day, but it is all we have and we have to make it work for us. According to Women’s WebMD, the amount of sleep a person needs depends on many factors, including age. For example, in general:
- Infants require about 16 hours a day
- Teenagers need about 9 hours on average
- Most adults need 7 to 8 hours a night for the best amount of sleep, although some people may need as few as 5 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day
- Women in the first 3 months of pregnancy often need several more hours of sleep than usual
However, experts say that if you feel drowsy during the day, even during boring activities, you haven't had enough sleep.
Hmm, 7 to 8 hours of sleep seems like a lot when your “to-do” list requires a lot more time. But we must remember without adequate rest our mind and body cannot function the way it should in order for us to even do the things we need to get done. So, I am offering some advice and this advice I even have to tell myself. GET MORE REST, THE MIND AND BODY WILL THANK YOU LATER!
