30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge

green smoothieJuly 1st I started a new healthy green smoothie regimen.  The challenge is to drink 2 green smoothies per day for 30 days. Today is only day 3 but thus far I am going strong and I am thrilled to say I love it. I found this challenge on Instagram believe it or not and it’s a great community to connect and encourage each other on the journey to changing your lifestyle.

I have a very busy schedule so making a fresh batch of juice for each serving is out of the question. I decided to make my drinks in the evening for the next day. This way, I still have a fresh batch and I have time to do my daily tasks.  Green smoothies consist of great vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to perform at its best.  Lately, my schedule has been very busy, long days and nights, and coffee was just not cutting it. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my lattes but I also know too much coffee/caffeine is not healthy for the body.  I decided I needed a healthier approach to gaining energy.  After finding the 30 day challenge online and then conducting my own research, it became clear that green smoothies are the way to go.

Here are a few recipes that I found online and a few I made up myself plus the link to join the challenge:

Spinach Papaya Smoothie:

2 cups spinach, fresh

2 cups water

2 ½ cups papaya

1 banana

Citrus Breeze:

2 cups spinach, fresh

1 ½ cups water

½ cup mango

½ cup pineapple

2 naval oranges, peeled

1 banana

Tileah’s Kale Float:

1 cup kale, fresh

1 cup brown pears

1 cup red apples

¼ almond milk

Tab of pure honey

Tileah’s Spinach Pear Delight:

1 cup spinach

1 cup green pear

¼ almond milk

Pinch of brown sugar
