Trying To Lose Those Last 5lbs?

It’s always those last 5lbs that are hardest to lose. Why is that?! Well the answer is pretty simple. Your body is basically bored. You’ve created a workout regimen and eating habits (no diets) that have worked best for you to lose weight. Well now that you have and clearly it worked, your body has gotten bored of the works out and has become immune to them. It is now time to switch it up. You have to confuse your body in order for it to react the way you want it to. Here’s a workout I have tried that makes you feel great, look great, feel accomplished after each workout, and help you lose the last 5lbs and then some. Below is the circuit workout with a detailed description of each

2 to 3 times a week

Each exercise is done in reps of 8-10

Single arm kettle bell swings- in squat position rest one hand on thigh and hold kettle bell with other in front of you. As you swing your arm up parallel to the floor go into standing position. As arm seeing back down, go back into squat position. That is 1 and repeat.

Push up dumbbell rows- while holding dumbbell go down in push up position. Proceed with push up, move weight to one side of body to lift the opposite arm in row motion and repeat on other side. That is 1 and repeat.

Box jumps- using a sturdy table, chair, or box at gym, find a height that forces you to reach a bit higher than an average lateral jump. Stand directly in front of box and with both feet jump landing on box lightly and jump back. Always 2 feet, that is 1 and repeat.

Skater lateral jumps- starting position, standing on left foot bring right leg bent behind left. Jump to the side landing on right foot, knee slightly bent and left foot bent behind the right and lightly touch floor with left hand. Repeat back to left foot, that is 1, and repeat.

Dumbbell T-stabilizations- while holding dumbbell go down in push up position. Bringing weight to one side, with straight arm raise arm with dumbbell into a T position. Side of body should be parallel to the floor. Bring arm back down and repeat on other side. That is 1 and repeat.

After completing one set of each excerise 3 to 5 times. That will be your complete work out.

Don’t forget to warm up 5-10 minutes. Stretch after and a light 5 minute cool down.

Vacation To Nowhere

Are you stressed out? Is everyone getting on your nerves? Don’t want to get up and go to work in the morning?

Take a vacation! Don’t worry about packing your bags or saving up money or looking for flights or even finding some girlfriends to go with. Just call out of work.

So you may be thinking to yourself, where am I going then? You are going to take a vacation to nowhere. Take a vacation and go nowhere! Remind yourself of what makes you happy and what you enjoy doing. Take the time to eat at your favourite restaurants or go to the museum or catch a show/performance. Do all the things that you enjoy doing. Don't allow the stress and thoughts of your every day consume you.

I was recently feeling overwhelmed by LIFE. So I took a week off from work and lived for me. I took day trips into the city, photographed everyday, started new projects, and met with friends. I did all the things that I wanted to do, that I enjoyed.

Have you noticed the pattern? "I" is the keyword. It's all about you on this vacation to nowhere. Sometimes you need these to pull yourself away from the stresses of reality. You need these to help center yourself so you can put your best effort forward when it comes to your 9 to 5 or any other activity you do throughout your week.

Give it a try and see how it works for you. Also try journaling during your vacation time. If all goes well, dedicate a couple weeks a year to have a vacations to nowhere.

Let the Count Down Begin…

The New Year is approaching very fast and whether you’re ready or not 2012 is on the way.  Hopefully, we all will be in good health and get to experience another calendar year and have another opportunity at this phenomenon called LIFE.  The concept of New Years always impresses me because this whole new awareness of existence takes over every ones mental.  Every New Year you hear the drawn out speeches and statements of “new year, new attitude” and all of these changes people will do, and what they will and won’t tolerate, and yada yada yada. I can go on and on about the declarations people have for the New Year.  But to me, all I hear is clatter.  Why must we wait until the New Year to create change? Why must we wait until the New Year to make a difference in our lives or better yet in someone else’s life? What is so significant about the New Year that makes it different from This Year or Last Year? To me, the New Year is just a calendar date by mankind. (Shoulder shrug) Experiencing the New Year is seeing a new day which that itself is precious and therefore “change” should not wait for the New Year. Change should occur once you come to the realization that a transformation must occur.

Many people make all these resolutions and by mid February, the diet is out the window, the goal is shattered and not built upon, and then…. wait….it’s a New Year to start all over again.  So if you’re one of those people that thrive in the “new year new attitude” syndrome, let that truly shine through this New Year and bring change to yourself and others.  Stick to the goals and resolutions that you may have set for yourself and keep pushing on until you’re satisfied with yourself!

Declare 2012 to be AWESOME

Declare to yourself to be HUMBLE

Declare to the universe to be ELEVATED

2012 Lets GO!!!!!

#LOVE #LIFE #PROSPERITY

Red Light Green Light 1, 2, 3…

Have you ever lost something that you just had? Especially money, have you ever lost money by dropping it or misplacing it? Once you’ve realize, you search all around trying to retrace your steps for hours just to come to the realization that it’s gone. What about your mind? Have you ever just lost your mind for a moment?  Well, I have and I must say it is NOT a great feeling.  I am sure this has happen to others and not just me.  However, the lesson that I have learned from these devastating moments of losing something is to SLOW DOWN!!!! Most of the time we are so busy rushing through the day, rushing through life, we have become careless and we do not enjoy the fruits of our labor.  I understand sometimes 24hours in a day may not be enough to accomplish all that you need, but it’s all we have and we must learn to ENJOY it.  It may be 24hours in a day, but we do not know how many of those days we actually have, so we must embrace the days that we do have as if it could be our last. Rushing through life you tend to skip or overlook the details.  Details are very important in many different situations and professions for various reasons. Embracing those details involves a greater capability of identifying and connecting that would lead you to have a deeper understanding and appreciating for whatever you are analyzing.

Life is only as complicated as you THINK it to be.
